Uganda Silverbacks Defeat Cameroon To Get Their First Ever Afrobasket Game Win

Uganda National Men’s Basketball team the Silverbacks have defeated Cameroon with 80:66 in the ongoing African Basketball Championship taking place in Kigali Rwanda.

In the game that happened on August 27th, Uganda managed to win three of the four quarters of the game 27 -22, 17-11, 18-14 and 18-19 making a total 80 while Cameroon who only won the 4th quarter had 66 points.

This was the second game of Uganda in the tournament having lost the first game to Senegal 93 :55 on Wednesday 25th August.

Uganda will play its last game in the group stages on Sunday 29th in Kigali Arena against South Sudan in Group D where Uganda needs a win in order to qualify to the next round.

AfroBasket 2021 Kigali is the third African Basketball Championship that Uganda has qualified to having qualified in 2015 Tunisia event, AfroBasket 2017 hosted by Tunisia and Senegal, in both cases Uganda failed to progress through group stages having lost all 3 games respectively.
