Matovu Charles is a Uganda Politician who currently serves as the Member of Parliament Busiro County South.

Matovu studied from Kampala Secondary School for O and A Level and Kyambogo University for his Bachelor’s degree.

According to his Facebook bio, Matovu roasted meat on streets to get school fees but has now become a school director and a member of Parliament.

Matovu contested for Busiro County South member of parliament seat in 2021 and won the elections having garnered 35,391 votes which was two times more that votes of his closest rival Paul Owor 16,418.

He was the official flag bearer of National Unity Platform in a contest that had 7 other candidates who included the then Incumbent Peter Sematimba from the National Resistance Movement, Paul Owor independent, Ssekigozi Stephen from the Democratic Party of Uganda, Lwanga Charles Ggongola independent, Kagimu William Independent, Kimeko Saul imdependent and Kayemba Joseph independent.

Matovu Charles will be Busiro County South MP till 2026.
