NUP principle Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has come out to distance himself from a tweet criticising the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi for meeting president Museveni.
The Kabaka and President met this week at State house Nakaseero to discuss a number of issues that included the mailo land fracas.
The tweet said it hurt to see the Kabaka meeting the dictator and had therefore betrayed his people.
“Ssabasajja Kabaka, it hurts me to say, but by meeting the dictator you have betrayed us as your subjects and those oppressed by the same person. You have chose the oppressor over your subjects in the struggle. History will judge you accordingly.” The tweet read.
Bobi Wine hurriedly came out to address this tweet due to it’s controversial nature.
He went ahead to attribute this allegedly fake tweet to the regime which he says is panicking.
“My attention has been drawn to this fake tweet, purportedly from my account. Please disregard it and treat it with the contempt it deserves. The regime has intensified it’s propaganda based on lies. Let us intensify our struggle for freedom based on the truth of our cause.” Kyagulanyi’s address to this tweet read.
It’s not the first time such controversial tweets have been springing up in the recent past causing upheaval among the public.
The Kabaka, President Museveni, first son Muhoozi Kainerugaba have all been subjected to death rumours by such baseless tweets.
It’s not known how these tweets are faked and put up but are most times fake.
