The Pearl Post  Best Premier League XI Of The Season

The Premier League season 2020/2021 ended a fortnight ago and our experts at “The Pearl Post” look into players who made a big impact at the clubs. These selections are made according to numbers for individuals at their clubs in relation to their counterparts at other clubs.

In goal, we go with Manchester City’s shot stopper and Brazil International Ederson Moraes. His 19 clean sheets are undisputed beating Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy on 16. The goalkeeper’s antics guided Manchester City to a fifth Premier League title.

In right back, Liverpool’s Trent Arnold made seven assists level with Westham’s Vladimir Coufal, but the former’s assists rejuvinated Liverpool to finish 3rd on the table and claimed a Champions league group stages slot. Coufal’s outstanding performance can’t just go unnoticed as they guided “The Hammers” to Europa League group stages next season. We go with Arnold.

In the left back, there’s been a lot of competition with the likes Man UTD’s Luke Shaw (5 assists), Westham’s Aaron Cresswell (8 assists), Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson (7 assists) and Everton’s Lucas Digne (7 assists) all contenders for this position.

However, if there is a reason why Westham’s to appear in Europa League next season other than Michail Antonio’s 10 goals, it should be for Aaron Cresswell’s 8 assists and here we’ll go with the England international.

In the Center back, it should be Manchester City’s undisputed stalwart Ruben Dias. He blocked 22 shots, the best, made 88 clearances more than any other, made 47 headed clearances, the most of any other player, and played a key role in 15 clean sheets. City won 23 matches of the matches the Portuguese was involved in.

Dias will play along with Leicester’s Wesley Fofana. He beats competition from Harry Maguire, Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and Tyron Ming’s and Everton’s Michael Kean. At only 20 years, the french made the most interceptions per-90 minutes (2.52)more than any other center back with more 1,000 minutes played this season. (Stats of squawka).

In the central midfield, we go with Manchester City’s İlkay Gündoğan. The German’s achievement talk it all. He was the solution to goals drought when Aguero was injured, when Gabriel Jesus was off form and Kevin De Bruyne was injured. It should not take one by surprise to read that the German was the club’s top scorer with 13 goals.

In the attacking midfield, Bruno Fernandez and Kevin De Bruyne did it all. Apart from netting 18 times, Bruno Fernandez went ahead to assist more 12 goal, making it 30 goal involvements. For Kevin De Bruyne, he was the joint second when it came to assisting goals level with Bruno Fernandez on 12.

Playing a 4:3:3 system, we’ll opt for an attacking trio of Mohammed Salah, Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane.

Mohammed Salah scored 22 goals to stand second behind eventual boot winner and he has now scored 20+ goals in the last three seasons.

Son Heung-Min scored 17 goals only behind Bruno Fernandez, Mo Salah and Harry Kane. He went on to assist 10 goals making it 27 goal involvements.

For Harry Kane, he scored 23 goals to take the golden boot and was the play maker of the season with 14 assists, totalling to 37 goal involvements. That makes our best Premier League XI of the season.

Other big notifications include goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, Thomas Soucek (Westham)N’golo Kante (Chelsea), Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Mason Mount (Chelsea), Rashford (Man UTD), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal).
