Nottingham Forest FC returns to Premier League after 23 years of Absense.

English football club Nottingham Forest has qualified to the English Premier League the top flight of English Club Football Pyramid after defeating Huddersfield Town in a Play Off Final yesterday.

Attended by 80,019 spectators, the match was held at Wembley Stadium London, where FA sought to determine the third team to be promoted to the English Premier League following Bournemouth and Fulham United which were promoted in the regular season.

Nottingham’s goal was an own goal scored by Levi Colwill in the 43rd minute which was enough to give foresters a 1 -0 win.

Nottingham defeated Sheffield United with 3 -2 on penalities after 2 -2 aggregate in two legged semifinal while Huddersfield defeated Luton Town with 2 -1 aggregate.

Nottingham Forest was relegated in the 1998/1999 season and did not get a promotion since 2021/2022 season.

With 1 First Division (precursor of Premier League) trophy, 2 European Cups (Champions League), 1 UEFA Super Cup, 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups and 1 FA Community Shield, Nottingham Forest is one of the most decorated football clubs in English Football.

The team maintains a local rivalry with Leicester City FC.
