Eng. Moses Magogo who is the president of Uganda’s football governing body FUFA has said each of the players of the Uganda U-20 national team will get $700 for making it to the final tournament of the AFCON U-20 to take place next year.
Uganda Hippos beat Kenya 3:1 in the semi finals of the CECAFA U-20 zonal AFCON qualifiers to book a ticket in the major tournament and for that milestone Magogo promised $700 to each of the squad members.
Magogo has on Wednesday 2nd December also pledged another $300 to the squad members if the “Hippos” win the tournament. Magogo made the pledge before the match was played and later in the day, the Hippos beat Tanzania 4:1 in the finals played at Black Rhino Academy Stadium at 3pm.
The AFCON U-20 Championship Will be staged in Mauritania next year from between February.
