The public may be boycotting their shows and calling them names plus corporate companies snubbing their shows but according to the information coming through, the musicians, who have become to be known as “Tubonga Nawe group” are still benefiting from the president and the song they did.
Put aside the Shs400 millions given to their “Association” and the Shs1.15 billions which is said to have been paid to the musicians for their services towards president Museveni’s campaign rallies and Bebe Cool, the musicians have been invited at State House by the president himself. Shortly after being provided with security, all of the artistes led by Bebe Cool this Saturday are to be hosted at the state house even though the agenda of the meeting is yet to be established.
But given the fact that they have been invited at 5pm, many believe the president could have organised a surprise dinner for them or some evening gig to thank them.
Remember that the president hosted a dinner for the same musicians last year at Speak Resort Munyonyo and it was at the same dinner that Bebe Cool, who led the group asked the president to continue hosting them (musicians) in the future. And maybe the president could be fulfilling Bebe Cool’s request now.
