Last night, a regrettable incident happened during the NBS Frontline show when the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo assaulted Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago live on the camera.
The incident forced the show to end prematurely with NBS producers turning off cameras when Ofwono Opondo stood up and went to confront fellow panelist Erias Lukwago.
People have been wondering what could have happened off the cameras but Erias Lukwago has come to light and explain what transpired when we were not watching.
According to Lukwago, Ofwono Opondo held Erias Lukwago by collars and started pulling him as he kicked him.
Lukwago further says that Ofwono started choking him as Lukwago struggled to free himself. He adds that Lukwago that he was boxed by Ofwono as fellow panelists were watching.
Worried that Opondo was having a pistol as he looked to be pulling out a pistol off his waist, Lukwago hesitated to defend himself fearing that he might be shot.
Before cameras were switched off, Lukwago could be heard telling Opondo to dare shot him ‘Shoot me, I can recall, you have ever shot someone’.
The two were later separated by fellow panelists however the tense situation continued for a time.
Lukwago was later held at NBS Studios ensure his safety later in the night tweeted asking for prayers so that he can safely travel back home.
