Singer Catherine Kusasira is sending bitter words to her –used-to-be darling party National Resistance Movement -NRM after she was allegedly not paid the money she ought to receive as remuneration for campaigning for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the concluded 2021 General elections.

Kusasira was one of the musicians who rejected their fellow musician Bobi Wine and instead chose to support the incumbent president Yoweri Museveni in a team that included King Michael, Bebe Cool, Ronald Mayinja, Big Eye, Phina Masanyalaze and many others.

Kusasira says that she did not receive money she was supposed to receive despite President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni instructing people responsible to disburse that money.

“I thought president Museveni was the commandant and his [command] was always respected by his representatives but….whoever he directs to perform they do the opposite” Catherine Kusasira said.

Kusasira says that she took personal bank loans to start up projects that were meant to motivate youths and refrain them from joining the National Unity Platform (NUP) adding that she has lost her property paying those loans.

“I have never been rewarded or appreciated for the strength and commitment I showed during thsst time, but instead lost everything I had before….NRM you are a disgrace to me” added Kusasira.

Towards the campaigns period, in October 2019, Catherine Kusasira and Butcherman were appointed presidential advisers by the President with Kusasira being an advisor on Kampala matters. Kusasira would later receive a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 ‘Mpenkoni’ car from the president and an entitlement of a monthly salary for as long as she still serves in that position.

After two years, In October 2021, Kusasira was said to have sold the car given to her by President Museveni to clear accumulating debts, a rumor she did not deny. “The car is mine, I have a right to sell it or keep it” she told reporters.

“President Museveni…those you trust will be the lead in your downfall” concluded Kusasira.
