The coordinator of the National Unity Platform Jasper Ayebare has crossed to the ruling National Resistance Movement three days before elections.
Jasper Ayebare was appointed a regional coordinator of People Power before it became National Unity Platform in 2019 and was also an aspiring candidate for the post of direct elect MP Rubanda East Constituency in Rubanda District – in the Greater Kabale Region.
Ayebare crossed with a group of youths from NUP who were welcomed dressed in Yellow and welcomed in party.
Ayebare on Monday morning posted on social media a photo of him with other youths in yellow outfits captioning it ‘Finally we did it’. He however didn’t say anything about his candidature and whether he will quit the race and support the NRM candidate or he will keep in the race.
Of recent, various independents and National Unity Platform flag bearers have crossed to NRM with most of them withdrawing from the elections and leaving NRM candidates unopposed.
NUP President and who is also aspiring for the post of the President recently said that these people crossing are being given irresistible money with others promised positions in government ending up betraying the ‘struggle’.
