National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine has today visited his remanded party MPs, Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North and Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye west at Kigo prison.

The two legislators were remanded on several charges including murder, attempted murder and terrorism charges connected to the recent machete wielding of killings in greater Masaka sub-region which claimed almost 30 people in just one month.

Kyagulanyi was accompanied by the party’s Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya and Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi who is also the Nakawa west Member of parliament.

Ssewanyana, Ssegirinya alongside four others have spent over four weeks in prison following their arrest.

They were first charged with murder, attempted murder, and terrorism. Their legal team applied for bail and it was successful but the two MPs were rearrested at Kigo Prison gates.

The duo was then slapped with new charges of murder allegedly committed at Kisekka in Lwengo district.

MP Muhammad Ssegirinya was last week produced at Buganda Road Court via video conferencing on charges of inciting violence and was further been remanded to Kigo Prison until 29th October 2021 after his denial against the charges.
