The Police Spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan David Onyango has issued a statement about the speculated 1 Million Match to the statehouse and disregarded the rumor as baseless and not real.
In the statement released on the Uganda Police Facebook page, Onyango said that people should not take the matter serious and should therefore come on 1st march and work without any intimidation, adding that the city will be peaceful.
He went further and warned those spreading such rumor that they will be tracked arrested and charged according to the law. He reminded the Ugandans that the Police is committed to providing every Ugandan with security.
Rumors have been making rounds everywhere on social media that opposition are planning a procession to the state house dubbed One Million Match on 1st March 2016, the match has been intended to start at Kampala road and heading towards Jinja road on the electoral commission headquarters.
