Police constable Robert Mukebezi was shot and injured today morning by UPDF officers who were stopping him from towing the UPDF car that had caused an accident, to the police.

The incident happened on Sunday morning at around 6:AM in Ntinda a suburb of Kampala when UPDF officers who came in double cabin with UPDF number plate shot a police officer who was sitting passenger side of the breakdown that was towing the wreckage of the car to Police Station.

According to witnesses, the bleeding officer was removed from the car and put down then the officers ordered the breakdown driver to tow the car to Mbuya Barracks.

The car was being towed from Naalya where a UPDF car driver lost control of his Toyota Prado TX Registration number H4DF 139, and crushed into a Kobil Fuel Station signpost in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Chief Political Commissar AIGP Asan Kasingye warned of consequences that await the UPDF officers who shot a traffic officer.

“Someone shot a traffic officer on Kira road following a minor accident this morning. What awaits such a rash, negligent & intentional act” AIGP Asan Kasingye said.
