King Oyo’s farm gets 2 tractors from the government

The government of Uganda through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Insustry and Fisheries has given 2 tractors to the farm of Tooro King, His Royal Highness Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

The tractors were handed over yesterday by the Minister of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries Hon. Frank Tumwebaze who doubles as the MP Kibaale County in Kamwenge District – Tooro sub region.

This was during the minister’s tour at the farm on January 13th which is located in Kenjojo district one of the constituent districts of Tooro Kingdom.

King Oyo Model farm works as demonstration farm to show and equip farmers in Tooro sub-region with modern farming methods.

The farm has 9 demo plots of different crops both cash crops and food crops in addition to fishery, poultry and cattle rearing.

“I thank H/Majesty  King Oyo for this initiative to guide his subjects especially the young people. Very proud of him for showing leadership” Minister Frank Tumwebaze noted.

Government through its initiatives like NAADS and Operation Wealth Creation has pledged to work with the kingdom of Tooro to support farmers in the region.

King Oyo thanked the government for its support towards the Kingdom of Tooro and expressed his gratitude to to Hon Frank Tumwemaze for the visit.

“My appreciation to the Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Frank Tumwebaze for donating two tractors to King Oyo Model Farm which will support farm activities.” King Oyo said.
