Bobi Wine Questions The Quick Succession In The Death Of Outspoken Religious Leaders

NUP president and former presidential candidate Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has come out to question the death h of outspoken religious leaders that have passed away in quick succession.

This followed the death of the leader of the Uganda Orthodox Church Bishop Yonah Lwanga yesterday.

Bishop Lwanga passed on in Athens, Greece where he’s said to have succumbed to cancer.

Kyagulanyi said that he was saddened by the passing of Bishop Lwanga who was an outspoken critic of the injustice and bad governance in the country.

The politician added that the deceased was not the type to sit and watch as the country careened down the steep slope of dictatorship.

He was therefore a consistent voice in pointing out the wrongs of those who hold Ugandans captive.

Kyagulanyi pointed out the late Bishop’s most candid moment when he urged Ugandans to pray for the fall of the NRM government saying that it’s only when Ugandans shall have peace.

It was from this that Bobi Wine questioned the way these religious leaders are succumbing to death saying that this raises questions and doubts.

“That Archbishop Jonah has now passed on raises more questions than answers, considering that many other religious leaders, prominent for their criticism of the regime have passed on recently under unclear circumstances. Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga of the Catholic Church, Sheikh Nuuhu Batte Muzaata and the Bishop Emeritus of Masaka John Baptist Kaggwa as well as Sheikh Anas Kaliisa have all passed on in quick succession.” Kyagulanyi posted on his Facebook page.

He then proceeded to send his condolences to the Orthodox Church in Uganda adding that his death only strengthens those who are still alive to continue the struggle to liberate the country.
