Museveni explains why Gen Tinyefuza was arrested

The president has at long last gave the statement as to why General David Sejusa Tinyefuza was arrested detained in the coolers. While addressing journalists at his home Rwakitura today morning President Museveni who is also the Presidential Candidate NRM Flag bearer gave remarks about his campaigns in the Greater Masaka sub-region and continued to tackle the issue of the arrest of Gen Sejusa and why he was denied retirement.
In his words Museveni said that people who do crimes are the ones that are arrested “People are arrested because they are breaking the law.” And he added that he is not even sure of the charges he being charged with but he is sure they are capital offenses. He added that being denied retirement, there is a board responsible for that but still he added that the board cannot retire a poorly behaved goon to the community, they rather keep him in army till he learns how to behave “But if you are a trouble-maker, why should the army offload you to society? We can’t offload impunity on the population.” General Sejusa was tried in Makindye Army court and was remanded to Luzira till 9th feb when he will be taken back to court.
The President further talked about the defiance campaigns and assured the citizens that there will not be any unrest after the elections adding that elections will be peacefully. He said that those threatening are those that have already realized that NRM will defeat them therefore they are trying to instill fear in population “It’s a foolish dog that takes on an elephant.” Said Museveni “About those claiming there will be unrest in the country because of elections, they are lying”.
Besigye has been assuring voters everywhere he goes that they should vote and once the votes are rigged he won’t go to court again but rather this time, he will go to streets, he adds that voters will join him demanding the right results, this has made many feel that if Electoral commission dare declares Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as a winner, Uganda may become the next Burundi. Where the “tired citizens” as they call themselves will try to change government using violence.
