Former Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi has visited Counsel Muhammad Mbabazi’s office at Buganda Road and is yet to visit council Fred Muwema’s office located off Acacia Avenue that was also raided yesterday night.
Muhammed has since accused police of breaking into his offices, a claim authorities are yet to respond to.
On the other hand, police dogs combed Muwema’s offices for clues into the break-in.
The attackers reportedly took off with two desktops which were being used by the secretaries, to type affidavits and two laptops belonging to the other lawyers.
They also took, according to Muwema, more than 100 affidavits, which were recorded at the offices from different witnesses and collected from all around the country.
The taken affidavits he said contained evidence supporting mainly the claimed noncompliance by the Independent Electoral Commission and candidate Yoweri Museveni in the just concluded elections.
Mbabazi hired the affected law firms to represent him in a case in which he is challenging the legality of President Museveni’s election victory at the Supreme Court.
Judges postponed the pre-hearing conference to allow Museveni’s lawyers, respond to the amended petition.
