Former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Dhaira Abel dies after battling cancer

It seems like there’s no disease worse than cancer at the moment as its robbing us of all the important people we’ve had in our community most so trying their best to raise our flag high. And apparently the latest we’ve lost is the former Uganda cranes goalkeeper DHAIRA ABEL.
The talented 28 year old Abel was diagnosed with abdominal cancer and he’s been under treatment for the past few months even though sadly he failed to win the battle.
Abel who’s been signed to Iceland’s based team called IBV Vestmanaeyjar football club has been under treatment since the team provides medical insurance for all it’s players and team members.
Dhaira started his football career with many years ago with Walukuba football club in Jinja then later transferred to Express FC, then URA before he ventured at Simba Sports Club in the Tanzanian league. Then later to IBV Vestmanaeyjar football club in the Iceland premier league where he’s been playing from till his death.

On Good Friday, the family and friend’s of the celebrated footballer held special prayers for him to get better and most so live longer but the star couldn’t shine more u fortunately.
Dhaira (Abel) is best remembered for his ball juggling antics while between the goal posts at Express F.C.
The exciting goalie was summoned to the national team (Uganda Cranes) and won a few cups to his name and he later won three CECAFA titles with the Uganda Cranes. Rest in peace soldier.
