6 youths who recently chained themselves on street poles around Kampala protesting Besigye’s detention have been charged for holding unlawful assembly.
The six were produced before Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Gladys Musenze who read them charges related to unlawful assembly, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The accused, all of them below 30 years include Khamadi Ssebayiga, Latifu Bazibu, Didas Mugisha, Badru Mugambe, Sunday Kiwewa , Alex Apangu and Isaac Kyagulanyi.
These were unable to secure bail as their counsel Abdul Kizza failed to furnish court with a valid Practicing Certificate (PC); and therefore the magistrate adjourned the case to 18th April for bail application before remanding the accused to Luzira Prison.
