CAF mourns Abel Dhaira, grants minute of silence on the next match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has joined the millions of fans allover the world mourning for the death of Ugandan footballer Abel Dhaira and prayed to God to bless the soul of the young player. In the letter written to Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), CAF extended its heartfelt condolences over the loss of the former Uganda cranes Goalkeeper.
“First of all please accept our heartfelt condolences on behalf of President Issa Hayatou and the CAF Executive Committee for this terrible loss. May God bless his Soul and give patience to his Family” Were some of the words in the letter signed by CAF Secretary General Hicham El Amrani
CAF continued and confirmed that they have granted the minute of silence before the tomorrow’s Uganda Cranes Vs Burkina Faso game as FUFA had requested shortly after the death of the celebrated footballer. “Your request for the moment of silence is of course approved. My colleagues will make sure the Match Commissioner is informed”
Uganda cranes will also wear T-Shirts with a memorable message of Abbey Dhaira written on the back, as they warm up for the game minutes before the game kicks off.
Meanwhile FUFA has finished naming a five man committee that will handle the burial arrangements. The committee is headed by FUFA Vice President Justus Mugisha, and other members include Rugyendo Arinaitwe Chairman FUFA Super League Limited Board, Norah Nassimbwa from State House, Katende Ssemakula from the National Council of Sports and Mayemba Faisal a Abbey Diara’s family member.
FUFA confirmed that State House will meet all the costs of bringing back the body to Uganda while FUFA will take care of the burial arrangements in Uganda. FUFA has therefore warned the public that no one should ask money claiming to be fundraising for the burial.
Abbey Dhaira will be buried at his ancestral home in Walukuba, Jinja district and burial date will be communicated later.
