Akon has finished striking a deal with the government of Uganda where the government has agreed to give one square mile of land in the ‘city’ to help him construct his futuristic city known as Akon City, Uganda.
The city will be the second green city the Senegalese American singer Thiam Badara Akon plans to construct in African continent over the coming years. The cities will not use a hard currency but rather a cryptocurrency known as Akoin which is being developed and promoted by the singer.
The project of Akon Cities will start in Senegal his mother country where he has already secured 2000 hectares given to him by the Senegalese government to construct a city whose phase one of construction will commence in 2023.
Details about the city and the plan of the city here in Uganda and the one Senegal remain shallow but Akon says that he got the inspiration from the 2018 movie titled Black Panther and wants to build modern cities (Wakanda) in a African style that will be a one stop centre to any African in diaspora who wants to get a taste of African culture.

The Ugandan project will commence in 2036, 15 years from and the construction plan and costs are not yet estimated.
Akon whose net worth is estimated at $88M in 2021 is starting on the construction of the $6Bn Akon City project in Senegal which will be funded by the various investors.
The city will be using green energy, like solar, biogas and bio mass and other green sources which do not pollute the environment nor promote climate change.
The government of Uganda has not explained clearly where the Square mile of land will be curved out to be given to the investor Akon but gave a hint that land will be in the city.
