UNEB to Release PLE Results This Week

The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has finalized plans to release the 2020 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results.

The release of the exams, which was slated for last month, was postponed after President Museveni instituted a 42-day lockdown to stem the spread of coronavirus since there was a need to control the rate at which the virus is spreading in the country.

“All schools and institutions of higher learning should close for 42 days effective from 7th June 2021’’. He said

He explained that schools have become an epicenter for the virus and hence the need to close them to avoid the continued spread of the virus.

According to the Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Alex Kakooza, the national examination body is set to be release PLE results either on Thursday or Friday this week.

UNEB will be briefing Minister of education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni with other official ministers on the 2020 primary Leaving Examination Results and this will be a preparation for the official release of the PLE Results.

According to UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Odongo, at least 749,811 P.7 candidates were registered for the PLE in 2020, which represents a 7.8 percent increase from the pupils that sat the exam in 2019.
