Uganda pharmaceutical company Quality Chemicals Ltd has donated a total of 2000 treated mosquito nets to be given to market vendors.
The donation comes to help market vendors of agricultural products who are mostly women that were told to remain at places of work for 42 days.
As the president banned both public and private transport in addition to cross district movements, the president also told market vendors to remain and sleep at places of work till when the restrictions are eased at the end of 42 days.
The donation was delivered by Mr Emmanuel Katongole the Executive Director of Quality Chemicals Ltd and received on behalf of the Ministry of Health by Dr. Diana Atwiine the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health.
“We deeply appreciate the sacrifice made by the market vendors to leave their homes and sleep at their places of work to make a living for their families and provide food to our communities. Therefore, it is important to us to ensure that they are protected from the harmful mosquitoes that linger in the night.” Katongole said as he thanked market vendors for their services and sacrifices.

Together with KCCA, the total number of nets collected is now at 5000 and are being distributed in markets throughout Kampala Capital City Authority.
