COVID-19 Kills More 50 people in one day, death toll hits 1,111

Ministry of Health has released the new results of data samples taken on June 30th 2021.

According to the information published on Ministry of Health Twitter handle more 50 people have died which is one the biggest single day death toll since the pandemic began.

1048 new cases were confirmed in 7,696 samples tested bringing the test positivity rate to 13.6%.

The total number of COVID-19 cases hits 82082 which is the 13th highest in Africa. Cumulative number of deaths is now at 1111 while recoveries are at 54158.

Uganda is currently undergoing the third wave of COVID-19 which was intensified by the Delta Variant that was first detected in India.

The country is currently doing all necessary measures to check the fast spread of the virus embarking on the vaccination program. 861645 people have at least received a single dose of COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine.
